New Swap: "Paper Painted" Collage
This swap is for Paper Traders members only but we would love to have you join our fun. Please click on the purple yahoo button in the sidebar for more information on how to join.
For this project we will be experimenting with the "paper painting" collage technique. This will be a one-for-one swap with each person mailing directly to their recipient. Each collage can be any topic of your choice but you must primarily use this technique to create your picture. Collages should be 5"x7" (portrait or landscape) and on either a flat canvasboard, chipboard, matboard, or other sturdy surface.
There are several ways to get started with this technique... You can start from scratch, laying your colors directly onto a blank canvas; you can paint your image first and then overlay with matching colored paper pieces; or if drawing/painting is a little too daunting, you can start with a photo or other picture and overlay with your paper pieces, creating a wholly new image. Feel free to embellish your collage however you feel inspired to do.

New Swap: Round Robin ATCs
This swap is for Paper Traders members only but we would love to have you join our fun. Please click on the purple yahoo button in the sidebar for more information on how to join.
Description: Inspired by our Hitchhikers, this project will consist of making ATCs in a round-robin style. Everyone will start by making 4 ATCs with different backgrounds, then mail all 4 cards to the next name on the list. Each time you receive a set, you will add one unique embellishment to each of the 4 cards and then send them on again to the next person who will do the same. This will continue until all the cards have 5 steps completed and then mailed to the 6th person as a set of 4 different ATCs to keep. It is important that each card in every step receive a unique embellishment - no "cookie cutter" stuff! We want all 4 cards to be very different from each other in keeping with the spirit of the swap. Please remember to add your name and contribution on the back of each card.
Mailing Guidelines: The mailing list will be announced on July 19th. For each round, you will mail to the same person shown after you on the list. Cards to be mailed every two weeks, for five rounds. Sixth recipient keeps the completed cards they receive.
In order to keep things running smoothly, it's important that everyone mail their cards out in a timely manner. Sometimes it might take almost the full two weeks for the cards to get to you so please be prompt in adding your embellishment and moving the cards quickly along. Since you only need to add one thing to each card, we hope this will be an easy process.

New Swap: Postage Stamp Passport Books
This swap is for Paper Traders members only but we would love to have you join our fun. Please click on the purple Yahoo button in the sidebar for more information on how to join.
Hope you can join the fun! This swap is for a passport book, featuring a different postage stamp (either cancelled or un-cancelled) on each of the pages.
Each player will create 6 double-spread 5.5"H x 7"W (landscape) pages. Each side of the page (left & right) should feature a different international country stamp (think countries you would like to visit) and leave the back of the paper undecorated. Decorate each spread with images & sayings related to the country associated with the featured postage stamp. Use white paper please, no cardstock (printer paper will work).
This is a two-page spread; the pages will be folded in the middle so the passport book will end up being 5.5"H x 3.5"W. Keeping this in mind, you will want to leave a small margin in the middle of each spread. The finished book will contain 6 double-spread pages, blank pages, plus note pages. I will bind the pages into a book with a cardstock cover.

The list will be randomized, announced on the 16th, and you will mail one ATC directly to each of the next two people on the list. A total of two ATCs each month for the speed swaps. You don't have to sign up every month, just when you feel like it or like the theme or have the time.
We'll have brand new creative excitement each month and this will keep postage for each of us to a minimum as long as you don't make bulky ATCs. But of course that will be your choice. It's approximately $1.20 to mail internationally for one ATC in a note card envelope.
New themes will be announced on the 1st of each month.
